Karamu Stream Walkway Heritage Trail

The Karamu Stream Walkway Heritage Trail follows the Karamu Stream between Havelock North Bridge and Crosses Road Bridge. Once the Ngaruroro River it was used for navigational purposes by Māori canoes and early European Settlers bringing goods from Clive. In 1867 the river diverted due to a major flood leaving the channel past Havelock North much reduced. The distance between the two bridges is 1km.
